After the wings are cut, burrs need to be removed from the wing spars.

If it weren't for wide load restrictions, cutting the wings wouldn't be necessary.  No one at WWAR is happy about doing this.  They do take great pains, however, to cut the wings in such a way that the splice is invisible once the aircraft is reassembled.

Notice the number of yellow jackstands being used to ensure the airframe is adequately supported while the wing is removed.

(above and below) Tony was fortunate to get the chance to take some aerial photos of the B-model at South Base during the last week of disassembly.
