"These are photos of 956 taken during the 1997 Edwards AFB airshow, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Sound Barrier Breaking by Chuck Yeager. "The SR-71 flew 3 times on the anniversary (Oct 14th 1997) and on the Saturday and Sunday before. The start and run are on the Sunday, a subsonic low fly-by, thus the normal nomex suit and HGU helmet on Ed Schneider and Bob Meyer." - John Freedman |
