979 is on display at the USAF History and Traditions Museum at Lackland Air Force Base near San Antonio, Texas. The high-gloss paint has since been removed.  979 now looks much more like she did when she was operational, as evidenced in these photos taken in April 2000, courtesy of Joe Tomasone.
