N110KC was originally a McDonnell-Douglas demonstrator aircraft. It was later put in the USAF inventory and given serial number 79-0433.

79-0433 is still flying in the USAF inventory. Operating from Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey, it was assigned to the 313th Air Expeditionary Wing to provide air refueling assets to NATO during Operation Unified Protector.
